Traditionally celebrated 12 days of Yule, according to the Nordic tradition. The celebration begins at midwinter evening with blot, where the burning of a sun wheel symbolizes the past year's death. It is a religious celebration with magic, witchcraft and deep traditions where Gydjor and Godar lead the celebration.
Then followed three days that was not because they could not see that the light began to come earlier in the morning or disappear later in the evening. Then they waited for the sun to be reborn.
On the fourth day the sun is reborn was celebrated in 9 days, giving 12 days festivities. The celebration began with that exhibited a boot with hay on the third evening, the hay was Sleipner (for it is Odin who is Father Christmas witch are a secret). The 9 last days are a family and especially the children's celebration.
