John Podesta, former campaign manager for Hillary Clinton and senior advisor to the Obama White House and Bill Clinton White House, wrote a controversial message on his Twitter account this week which appears to contain a physical threat aimed at Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Seems like those “unnamed sources peddling second-hand hearsay with rank speculation that continue to leak inaccurate information,” came straight from 1600 Penn. Jared better start wearing his kevlar on his back. https://t.co/Aps6BEkJDd

In the Tweet, Podesta then links to an article from the CIA-linked Washington Post; claiming that officials in "at least four countries" are trying leverage Kushner's alleged private conversations with foreign officials in an attempt to manipulate the Trump administration.
Podesta's quote about “unnamed sources peddling second-hand hearsay with rank speculation that continue to leak inaccurate information,” refers to statements from a Kushner spokesperson who dismissed the allegations about Kushner's foreign connection, but Podesta claims that the sources came directly from the White House. Podesta's phrasing seems to give himself some deniability, as it could be seen as a warning about a metaphorical incoming 'stab in the back', however Podesta's taunting tone in his message telling Kushner to start regularly wearing a bullet proof vest suggests the message could be more sinister.
This is after all, the same John Podesta that has ominously threatened to target members of his own party in the past over alleged leakers, and other Democrats "who have violated the trust of [Hillary Rodham Clinton] and the rest of the team" As a widely shared 2015 Wikileaks email revealed his response "I'm definitely for making an example of a suspected leaker whether or not we have any real basis for it."
Is this Tweet another example of John Podesta looking for more enemies to "make an example out of"?
White House social media director Dan Scavino responded to Podesta's tweet, calling John Podesta "creepy" and saying that he took the message as a threat,
Creepy John Podesta with a threat directed at the Presidents son-in-law....disgraceful. Not surprised! https://t.co/Ky3B5BFgwn
