If I had to describe Prison in one word it would have to be lonely. Loneliness that you have never experienced before. It’s as if someone plucked you out of your reality and placed you on the shelf. Sure you can make phone calls and talk to your love ones., but then 15 mins is up. They might even be able to come and visit with you, but then they go home. And your still there sitting on the shelf day in day out. You are in the same place, doing the same thing, with the same shity people until they call your number.

Your memories are the best way to fight the loneliness, so I would often find myself reminiscing on the past. Unfortunately I didn’t personally use this time to reminisce on issues I had in my past or how to learn from my mistakes. I primarily would think the fun crazy times I used to have. And it would come out in my prison art.

This piece is a simple one, done in pen and finished with felt marker. The main focus of it is the Brooklyn bridge which has always held a special place in my heart ever since @Movement19 took me to my first Brooklyn rave. The scan of the photo didn’t work the greatest, but I'm sure you can still pick up on the shadows of the partiers.

When you're alone all you have are your memories. And I had some great ones. My random prison art helped helped keep me sane. So I wanted to share it with you guys.
