AS Roma have confirmed the addition of World Cup winner, Steven Nzonzi to the list of their new recruits after the French midfielder signed from Sevilla for £27m.
Steven Nzonzi unveiled by AS Roma.
Nzonzi was initially linked with big money moves to Arsenal as well as Manchester United but apparently, no English side could sign him anymore following the closure of their transfer window on Thursday, 9th August.
It was understood that Nzonzi wanted to leave and was subsequently left out of the Sevilla team that lost the Spanish Super Cup to Barcelona on Sunday.
The Former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City player was part of the France World Cup winning team where he made five appearances, coming on in the final as France looked out to defeat Croatia 4-2.
Follwoing the departure of Radja Nainggolan to Inter Milan and Alisson Becker to Liverpool, Roma are undergoing a sort of rebuilding and have since this summer acquired the services of Justin Kluivert – son to the Dutch Great Patrick Kluivert, Javier Pastore, Robin Olsen, Marcano and Ante Coric.
Their deal for Brazilian sensation, Malcom was however hijacked by Barcelona in the 11th hour.
Nzonzi was also part of the Sevilla team that won the UEFA Europa League in the 2015/2016 season.
