Greetings, hivers.
One of the groups most affected by the current situation in Cuba is the elderly. They are affected in many ways. Without fuel to move around, they cannot face long walks, nor do they have the money to pay the high prices of the few transport options that still operate. This forces them to remain at home.
The constant power outages affect everyone, but especially those who live in tall buildings and are forced to go up and down the stairs, something that for many is simply impossible.
In Old Havana and Centro Habana, this is perceived a little less. Although they are low income areas, the elderly often have nearby places where they can go to distract themselves. We see them sitting in parks, playing chess or dominoes on any corner, sharing time as a form of silent resistance.
It would be interesting if someone conducted a study on how the current situation in Cuba has affected this vulnerable group, because there are many factors far beyond mobility that deeply impact their lives.
Family separation, food, medicines with astronomical prices. In the end.
Today's series aims to be a tribute to these brave people, who have no choice but to resist.
I hope you like the photos. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts.

Saludos, hivers.
