Randy was a duck that lived on a big farm with lots of other animals.

On the farm was a great big watchdog named Jack.
Randy was sad- he didn't want to be a little duck... He wanted to be a dog just like Jack.

Every day he would walk around and practice his ferocious growl... But all that came out was a loud QUACK!
One day the farmer's wife went for a swim in the pond on the farm. When she got out she saw that her ring was gone.

"Oh Jack," she cried, "It must have fallen in the pond." But Jack was a dog and he couldn't help.
Randy saw his chance and sprang into action. He raced to the pond and swam round and round with his head in the water- as only ducks can do.

He saw the ring sparkling on the bottom and he bravely dove and grabbed it in his beak.
When he brought it to the farmer's wife she was so happy...
"Oh Randy," she exclaimed, "you're wonderful- you saved the day!"

Randy was proud... and he didn't want to be a dog anymore.
