Short Story: The Abandoned House

In a quiet little town there is an abandoned house. According to rumors ghosts can be seen there at night. It's because of that that the last owner flee from the house while screaming "ghost!" one night! From then onward, no one dares to live in that house anymore...

In that town lives two particular boys. These two are the naughtiest boys in town. They love to play tricks on people, and causing poblems now and then. Releasing chickens from their coops. Putting bugs on someone else's bed. Pretending to be ghost are just some of their tricks.

Their parents would often scold them. But they still persist on their ways. Since they are kids, adults can't reallly do much to them. They can only hope that they out grow their naughtiness and stop playing tricks all together.

Unfortunately, they are bound to be disappointed. Because the boys are planning another trick! This time they will go to the abandoned house and pretend to be ghost again! Scaring people once more...

Soon the sun falls and night arrives. Two boys are seen running, running to a certain place Then they stop in front of an old and abandoned house. The boys are none other than the towns naughtiest!

Quitely they entered the house. Surprisingly the door is not locked! Then again it is the scariest place in town, so people rarely goes there at all, not to mention enter the house like these naughty boys.

Creeak! The door creaks creepily. The boys are startled, but calmed down quickly. Then, without warning a cold wind blows! 'Ahh!' They are so terrified, they screamed! But then they noticed the window was open Again they sigh, it's just the wind.

Click! They heard a click! 'Eek!' They shriek in fright! It was the doorknob's click , it locked by itself! The naughty boys panicked and they tried opening the door but it will not budge at all!

'Let us out! Let us out' they screamed! Hoping someone would hear them. But no response came... Suddenly they heard foot steps going down the stairs! 'Ahh!' They screamed again! 'The window is open!' One of the boys said.

They quickly climb the window and out of the house while screaming! They are so scared they run so fast. Soon they got home, safe but terrified. They told their parents what happened. But their parents got angry instead. For they sneak out at night to play tricks and scared people again

They were lectured and grounded. Surprisingly they agreed. They have learned their lessons. So from that day on, the two boys are naughty no more. Afraid that the ghost of the abandoned house will not let them off the hook...
