Have you ever been in the shelter for abandoned animals? I think it's such a sad place. All these animals that nobody wants, waiting for a moment of happiness.
That kinda moment just got Popeye, adorable puppy from Dumovec (place in Zagreb where abandoned animals are situated).
He got himself a new home, and I think he finally sleeps peacefully.
From the very beginning when a shelter in Dumovec was opened, one thing was forbidden, killing animals. Today, thanks to a lot of people who work there, the same law is valid for the whole country.
Only last year shelter adopted 95 dogs and currently cares for about two hundred thirty dogs. They are all waiting for the new home.
The team that works in Dumovec takes care of abandoned animals that irresponsible owners left. I mean, what kind of a person you have to be to leave your dog?! People leave their dogs on the street or just take them somewhere and leave them there. I think we should have stronger penalties for that kind of people.
I've met a few people that have adopted a dog from a shelter. You can not believe the gratitude these dogs are showing. We used to have a neighbor who saved a dog from a certain death. This dog was absolutely unbelievable. He never trained her, but he could just point a finger and the dog would do whatever he wants. Ones he pointed his finger towards the sea and she immediately threw herself from the rock. And she didn't even like the water. She was the ugliest dog I've ever seen but everybody just adored her so much.
What I'm trying to say, if you have any doubts - abandon them, and take the abandoned dog, you will never regret.
And regarding the actors from the beginning of this story, I'm sure they'll live happily ever after.
