Once, I stood on the beach with my uncles and my father and watching hundreds upon hundreds of dolphins swirling in the water off the coast of Bells Beach, Victoria. Sometimes, I wonder if it even happened. It looked surreal - the water was churning white, foam rising and falling as their grey and slick bodies moved toward the west. I've never seen it since. This pixellated photo from the late '80's does NOT do it justice - but it was real, and I was there. I've surfed with dolphins many t
Little did I know that one day I'd BE a dolphin.
Yep, I made dolphin. I feel like I should mark it in some way, so here I am, writing a post to say 'woot, I made it!' - but made what, exactly? It just felt like a personal milestone I guess and now I'm wondering - where to next?
I guess it doesn't matter where, just that I'm hanging around. I love being part of Natural Medicine and leading the group there, helping to find rewards for those posting about natural healing. Thanks to all my homies there - you know who you are. Couldn't do any of it without your enthusiasm, advice, love and inspiration - and hard work. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou - the Steemiverse is richer for you in it. Ah heck, I'm gonna thank 'em anyway - ,

- thanks for all you bring to NM. And that's just the main crew - there are so many others who pop in on a regular basis to say hi and add great content -

(and gosh - don't forget Homesteaders Co-Op - that's been a great thing to be part of too!)... the list goes on!
If I've forgotten to add you, it's not because I've really forgotten - I'm just overwhelmed with steem-stuff-to-do. I like to support the #ecotrain tag, write on questions of the week, support
and
's #weedcash token venture - so many cool concious communities on Steemit and I love being part of them all. Truly honoured!
Because it is bloody exhausting being a full time Steemian and having real life too - thank god for a mindful life!
Oh, and speaking of - must mention Mindful Life - would woulda thought we'd have a dedicated place for meditators on Steemit, with actual live group meditations in Discord? Thanks ,

and everyone else there for being so enthusiastic about the #mindfullife tag and sharing your spiritual journeys - I can barely keep up!
I'm also excited about PalNet - what a shining example of something having been around for the long haul, and coming up with the awesome goods. I found a little thrill of pride to be awarded those tokens, because the criteria was about being a good Steemian that posts good content, engages, and helps the community in some way, so I was chuffed to be recognised for that along with the other awesome folk who were also airdropped some PAL. Yay!
As for the other tokens - ah, it's confusing as anything. Sometimes developers and tech crew here forget there's lay people like me trying to make heads or tails of this. I'd love to get a front end going for Natural Medicine but find it all overwhelming - if there's anyone who might be able to help, and find Natural Medicine your kinda thang, then please do get in touch. We're slowly growing with small delegations - gee it'd be lovely to get a break there as we do work really hard to bring you good content. Was very appreciative of Steempeak's who made sure we're featured as a curator under the 'Explore' section of Steempeak.
Steempeak is still my favourite platform for steem so far. It's easy, fast, and organised - and constantly updated to make a really nice user experience. The ability to save drafts, set beneficiaries, list the author name (great for multiple writers under one account like we do with Natural Medicine) and many other features is just amazing. I left Busy behind months ago - haven't even checked for updates. As for the Steemit front end - ugh. I get that we need ads, but they look awful and I don't go near it if I can help it! Partiko - meh. It's okay, but lacks so many functions. We do need a cracking app. Has anyone tried esteem? I should give it a go, see what I reckon.
Interesting news about Facebook and LIBRA - you could be either in total fear that it will outshadow Steem (what's that all about - check the Libra logo, flip it - isn't that Steem?) but I think it's kinda positive. Once mainstream companies like Facebook and all the companies that have bought into it (not quite decentralised, is it now, but better than nothing) crypto might gain legitimacy and wider adoption, which can only be good for onboarding users onto Steemit. It's a brave new world - though my hubby argued it's not at all, just a different way of making people buy shit, which is true as well.
I kinda wanted to summarise what I've learnt here in just over a year, but the darn place changes so fast that it'd take me too long. I've loved the friendships I've made here, have loved fine tuning my writing skills and being totally inspired by amazing people, and loved learning about the crypto world. There's a whole bunch of stuff I still don't understand and am not sure I'll ever will, but I do love this place - and apart from the occasional desire to write a #ragequitfriday post, can't say I'm leaving anytime soon.
