Last night we went and picked up the Land Rover from the trimmings guy. We located him via the Landie community as he makes the canvas hoods for people's old soft top cars. It took him two days to do and we felt like we were waiting for Christmas!
I mean, it's one thing to actually build the frame - a huge undertaking by Jamie - but without the canvas, it was nothing!
Now we have a lot more to do. So much! It's pretty overwhelming.
- Instal the diesel heater
- Build the interior cupboard
- Do the 12v system
- Figure out how to attach jerry cans for extra fuel (probably anchor tracks)
- Find a box to attach to the door at the back for extra storage
- Clad the left hand side wall
And on it goes. We've only got a month to go. However, we might have to delay our trip - Dad's fallen ill again. I can barely talk about it without crying. There's no way we will leave until we know he's okay. If we delay the camper going on the boat, we also buy ourselves a little more time - and who knows, Jamie might even add a 200TDI. So we're trying to see the bright side here.
With Love,
