ENG - The private investigator Rubini had been commissioned to follow the engineer Nobili, suspected of being a mole in a chemical company intent on selling off the new patents to the competition to reduce the emission of toxic substances in factories. Nobili behaved suspiciously, was distracted, and often disappeared for a few days without saying anything to anyone.
So Rubini followed him on one of these departures and his surprise was great when he joined the engineer in Venice. It was not easy not to lose him among the thousand streets of the city invaded by tourists, until he reached an area hidden from the crowd, stopped by a florist, bought a rose and then waited near a small garden.
From the smile that was painted on his face at the sight of the young woman who was arriving from the bridge, Rubini was sure that the secret of the engineer had nothing to do with the patents of the company.
IT - L'investigatore privato Rubini aveva avuto l'incarico di seguire l'ingegnere Nobili, sospettato di essere una talpa in una azienda chimica intenzionato a svendere alla concorrenza i nuovi brevetti per diminuire l'emissione di sostanze tossiche nelle fabbriche. Nobili si comportava in maniera sospettosa, era distratto, e spesso spariva per qualche giorno senza dire niente a nessuno. Cosi Rubini lo seguì in una di queste dipartite e grande fu la sua sorpresa quando raggiunse l'ingegnere a Venezia. Non fu facile non perderlo tra le mille calli della città invase dai turisti, finchè non raggiunse una zona nascosta alla folla, si fermò da un fiorista, comprò una rosa e poi si mise in attesa vicino a un piccolo giardino. Dal sorriso che si dipinse sul suo volto alla vista della giovane donna che stava arrivando dal ponte, Rubini fu sicuro che il suo segreto non aveva nulla a che fare con i brevetti dell'azienda.
