My name is Rob Sigurdson, but for the last 40 years my friends have called me Ziggy. I worked for the last 37 years for the City of Winnipeg. I started as a laborer, became a truck driver/operator, and finished my career as a foreman. I am now retired and have a lot of opinions and a lot of time to espouse them.
I used to ignore politics on the news and had no real interest in current affairs. I am now paying close attention to world politics and how they affect us. This has been ramped up because of my son, . He has been reporting on many things that interest and intrigue me on his World Alternative Media. The stories that he reports on are stories I haven't seen much of in the MSM. And a lot of them make me angry. They make me want to speak out. They make me want to say something that may give people a different perspective.
Freedom of speech is something that should never be toyed with. Even mean and hurtful speech. I don't believe that because someone says something "hateful", they should not be heard. They should be debated and should be stuffed back into their shoes with words, not fists. This new "hate speech" crap is based on feelings. "That thing you said really hurt my feelings" is something you should only hear in grade school. Not when debating actual important issues.
The left is all about "feelings". They also love to protest. Well not really protest. More along the lines of rioting and destroying personal and private property. I have many opinions about the left and how they are making the world a worse place to live. I mean who comes to a protest wearing a ninja outfit and a burka? Only someone who is going to cause chaos and doesn't want to be recognized.
Bernie Sanders almost winning the Democratic Primary was another wake up call. I'm actually glad that Hillary cheated him out of the primary because he probably would have had a better chance against Trump. Can you imagine the US becoming a socialist country? I think most economists know how often socialism has worked... NEVER!
So that's my introductory post. I appreciate you reading it and hope you check the following posts as they come. Thanks!
