En el post anterior a este supimos que los Templarios fueron los responsables de la muerte de la Familia de Ezio, por lo que este está completamente decidido a tomar cartas en el asunto y vengarse de los asesinos de su familia y antes de esto pues una noche decidió ir por su amada novia, con ayuda de su amada novia incineró los cadáveres de su familia y le ofreció que se fuese con el pero esta no se sentía capaz de abandonar a su familia, por lo que Ezio solo le dejó un collar para que esta supiera y tuviera presente que siempre estarían juntos.
Los meses pasaban y tras ver el avance de Ezio en sus entrenamientos el tío le ofrece que se una a la hermandad como un asesino oficial pero este se niega ya que su plan es otro, Ezio planea ir a España pero antes de largarse Ezio ayuda a su tío liderando un ataque en contra del Vieri De Pazzi, logrando con éxito asesinar a este tipo, lastimosamente el sujeto incluso a punto de morir se niega a dar información alguna acerca de los templarios.

Tras volver a su villa luego del exitoso ataque Mario le platica a nuestro héroe que el líder de los templarios en esa región es un Español llamado Rodrigo Borgia, Ezio decide ir tras él para aniquilarlo y acabar con su vida pero no sin antes matar y masacrar a todos sus seguidores y aliados involucrados en el asesinato de su familia, Mario también habla acerca de un codex que pertenece a uno de los miembros asesinos más importantes de la hermandad quie no es nada más y nada menos que Altair, el antepasado de Desmond Miles en la primera entrega de Asassins Creed........ Se supone que este codex resguarda un gran poder que fue encontrado originalmente por el mismo Altair y que para poder descifrarlo tiene Ezio debe encontrar todas las páginas pertenecientes al codex y llevarlas con su amigo Leonardo Da Vincci para que así pueda interpretarlas.

Pasado unos meses, Ezio regresa a Florencia para investigar una conspiración que se esta realizando en contra de todos los amigos de la familia Auditore, en el proceso Ezio visita a su amada pero por desgracia al llegar este se entera de que esta ya está comprometida con un super mal partido, un viejo borracho cualquiera del pueblo, Ezio lo amenaza para que se vuelva un hombre merecedor del amor de su ex amada. Así anda ayudando a los amigos de su familia y asesinando a los aliados de Borgia, mientras recolectadas unas cuantas páginas del codex se las lleva a Leonardo para ir descifrando poco a poco las pistas de donde se encuentra el poder tan enrome que en su momento encontró y ocultó Altair.
Ezio logró descifrar un mensaje en las páginas que recolectó, que se refiere a la llegada de un supuesto profeta, cuando la segunda pieza del Edén sea llevada a la ciudad que flota..... Eso exactamente es lo que decía el mensaje y que por si no se acuerdan las piezas del Edén son unos artefactos mágicos muy poderosos y que uno de ellos era la manzana que Altair tenía en el primer juego pero existen otros artefactos muy mágicos y poderosos regados por el mundo.

Luego de enfrentarse en un combate a muerte Borgia tras verse acorralado llama a sus guardias pero dejando atrás la pieza del Edén la cual cae en manos de los asesinos, Mario llega al lugar y le menciona a Ezio que si la pieza del Edén cayó en sus manos no hay otra explicación que el mismo sea el profeta que menciona el codex. Ezio es recibido en la hermandad de los asesinos y tras completar su ritual de iniciación, llevan la pieza con Leonardo Da Vincci, quien les dice que nunca había visto una pieza con tal tecnología....... Los asesinos saben que esta es un arma muy poderosa así que ellos deciden encargarle tal pieza a alguien en especifico.
