Greetings to all!
Spring is the best time for traveling! It's not too hot yet! The tourist boom hasn't started yet! You can still visit the place you've been dreaming of for a long time! And most importantly, everything is blooming, coming to life, turning green and singing!
And I, having taken a break from work, came to Padua to visit the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua. This garden is the oldest in Europe. The university was famous for its research in the field of medicine. In those ancient medieval times, plants were mostly used for treatment. And the idea arose to create a site at the university for growing various plants, studying their effect on treatment. So a round site was created, fenced off by a brick wall with four entrances. The entrances were decorated with beautiful bowls on both sides of the gate, and at each entrance were placed statues of famous physicians and philosophers. The entire circular garden was divided into four sectors, representing the world and its four directions. In each sector, plants were planted that corresponded to the direction of the world!
Later, the botanical garden was expanded. Rare trees and shrubs were planted around it, which were brought from different countries of the world. A tall oak with its wide crown grows next to a black pine from Latin America.
The old plane tree is so old that a huge hollow has formed in its trunk. The vines of the plane tree stretch upwards. It has no leaves yet, the bare trunk shines with its whiteness, asking for protection... I was reminded of the plane tree alley in Sochi, where my mother-in-law once lived and our family rested there every summer. Tall, wide, they always created a pleasant, shady atmosphere.
Walking through the garden, I looked at the plants and shrubs and various associations from my life came to my mind.
For example, I see a plant planted in a clay pot. For me it is a weed that is difficult to get rid of, but here it is a medicinal plant. This celandine is common!
Many types of lotuses grow in small ponds and are just beginning to bloom. Various colors! Once upon a time, there were a lot of white water lilies and yellow water lilies on the pond in my village! In the summer, the boys swam to the middle of the pond to pick beautiful white flowers for the girls.
I came across a meadow with peonies. Some have already finished, and some have not yet started. Hardworking bees collect nectar from fragrant flowers! Such peonies grow in my late mother's flower garden... how she loved her flowers...
In our country, these forest flowers are called honeysuckle. There are flowers of different colors on one bush. From dark blue to bright pink. My mother really wanted to have such a plant in her flower garden. Once she brought a couple of plants from the forest with roots and planted them. In a couple of years, the honeysuckle has grown into a multi-colored carpet. These first spring flowers are another reminder of my mother...
Cacti were growing in one of the covered pavilions. Tall, small, round... of the strangest shapes. One of these "thorns" grew near us in Lviv. Now I also have cacti in my collection. Some are blooming and I am very happy.
There are quite exotic trees and plants! There are some that I have never seen before! The tree is very tall, and the trunk is covered with prickly thorns. This is how nature protects itself! And the variety of wild orchids is simply amazing! Some are so delicate, barely noticeable. And others are of such a cool color that you notice them immediately and cannot pass by! Wild orchids are parasites that live on trees. Dracaenas are gigantic. And a pavilion with predatory plants that eat flies! Such strange shapes and colors in order to lure insects into their embrace!
The natural diversity of plants and trees of our planet is studied by students of the University of Padua.
In 1997, the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua was recognized as a UNESCO heritage site for its significant contribution to research!
I spent an interesting and eventful day among trees, flowers, and birdsong! I recommend everyone who lives or will come to Padua to visit the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua and get real pleasure from communicating with nature!

Весна найкраща пора для мандрівок! Ще не дуже спекотно! Ще не почався туристичний бум! Ще можеш спокійно побувати там, де давно мріяла! А головне, все цвіте, оживає, зеленіє і співає!
І я, взявши раузу рід роботи приїхала до Падови щоб відвідати Ботанічний сад Падуанського університету. Цей сад є найстарішим к Європі. Університет славився своїми дослідженнями у сфері медицини. В ці давні середньовічні часи здебільшого для лікування використовувались рослини. І виникла ідея створити при університеті ділянку для вирощування різноманітних рослин, дослідження їхнього впливу на лікування. Так було створено круглу ділянку, огороджену цегляною стіною з чотирма входами. Входи були прикрашені красивими чашами по обидві сторони брами та на кожному вході були рлзміщені статуї відрмих медиків та філософів. Весь круглий город був розбити на чотири сектори, що уособлювало світ і чотири його сторони. В кожному секторі висаджувались рослини, які відповідали стороні світу!
Згодом ботанічний сад був збільшений. Навколо було висаджено рідкісні дерева та кущі, які було привезено з різних країн світу. Височезний дуб зі своєю крислатою кроною росте поряд з чорною сосною з Латинської Америки.
Старий платан настільки старий, що в його стовбурі утворилося величезне дупло. Віти платана тягнуться догори. Ще не має листя, голий стовбур библискує своєю білизною, просячи захисту... Нагадалася мені платанова алея в Сочі, де жила колись моя свекруха і ми сім'єю щороку там відпочивали влітку.Високі, крислаті, завжди створювали пприємну, тінисту атмосферу.
Йдучи садом, я розглядала рослини ьа кущі і мені приходили до голови різні асоціації з мого життя.
От наприклад, я бачу рослину, яка висаджена в глиняний горщик. Для мене це бур'ян, якого важко позбутися, а тут це лікарська рослина. Це чистотіл звичайний!
На невеликих водоймах ростуть багато видів лотосів, які щойно починають цвісти. Різноманітних кольорів! Колись в мене в селі на ставку було дуже багато білого латаття та жовтих кувшинок! Влітку хлопці плавали на середину ставу щоб нарвати красивих білих квітів для дівчат.
Я натрапила на галявину з піонами. Деякі вже перецаіли, а деякі ще не почали. Працьовиті бджілки збирають нектар з пахучих квіток! Такі піони ростуть в квітнику моєї покійної мами... як вона любила свої квіти...
В нас ці лісові квіти називаються медунки. На одній рослигі цаітутб квіти різних кольорів. Від темно-синього до яскраво рожевого. Моя мама дуже хотіла мати таку рослину у себе в квітнику. Одного разу принесла з лісу пару рослин з корінуямт і посадила. За пару років медунка розрослася у різнобарвний килим. Ці перші весняні квіти це ще одна згадка про мою маму...
В одному із критих павільйонів росли кактуси. Високі, малі, круглі... найдивніших форм. Один із таких ,,колючок" ріс у нас у Львові. Зараз я також маю кактуси у своїй колекції. Деякі цвітуть і я дуже тішуся.
Є доволі екзотичні дерева та рослини! Є такі, яких я не бачила ніколи! Дерево дуже високе, а стовбур весь покритий колючими шипами. От як природа себе захищає! А різноманіття диких орхідей просто вражає! Одні такі ніжні, ледве замітні. А інші такого крутого кольору, що їх зразу помічаєш і мимо не пройдеш! Дикі орхідеї це паразити, які живуть на деревах. Драцени гігантських розмірів. А павільйон з хижими рослинами які поїдають мух! Такі дивні форми та забарвлення для того щоб заманити комах у свої обійми!
Природне різноманіття рослин та дерев нашої планети вивчають студенти Падуанського університету.
В 1997 році за значний внесок в дослідження Ботанічний сад Падуанського університету був признаний як спадщина ЮНЕСКО!
Цікавий та насичений день я провела серед дерев, квітів та співу птахів! Рекомендую всім, хто живн або приїде до Падови відвідати Ботанічний сад Падуанського університету і отримати справжнє задоволення від спілкування з природою!
