God pays attention to those who call on Him. Those who practice in idol worshipping distance themselves from God. God is not happy with that. Among the Lord's ten commandments it is stated that we should have no other god except God in Heaven.
If we truly desire for God to hear us then we must do away with every other thing. We cannot hold on to God and at the same time hold on to idols . It doesn't work that way. We are either for God or for the devil, we either choose light or darkness.
Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
This was Joshua's statement. God can never have His glory shared with idols. We have to be decisive with who our submission lies to. There's no sitting on the fence. This is a decision that we have to get straight. Worship to God and idols cannot work. Anyone who sincerely loves God cannot even think of getting involved in idol worshiping.
