This is Why I Don't Use DTube
So for the longest time many of my Steemit friends have been trying to encourage me to use DTube. I'll be honest, I'm stuck in my ways and I'm lazy. Having to login to Steemit to then go into permissions and get my private posting key to then login to another site is both extra work, as well as something outside of my normal routine.
On top of that, despite everyone hating Youtube, they pay me much better than DTube and Steemit. On Youtube I've made upwards of $4,500 in a single month off Adsense, an average month for me is $2000 to $2500 and despite grinding away for over a year here on a daily basis Steemit pays me peanuts. So for that reason it seems to me to be more lucrative to post my videos on Youtube, then share them here and get some extra views which wind up being about $17 per 1,000 views.
All that aside however I've recently made a few attempts to post to DTube and after taking some time to write a mini blog post in the description, craft a snap, and come up with my bulletpoints, I'll go to post and get the message you see at the bottom right of the above photos which says please upload a video before submitting, which I have already done multiple times. Othertimes I try to post I'll get an error message, sometimes it will tell me I havn't uploaded a snap.
Imagine if Twitter or Facebook or Youtube had this many fuckups, people would say screw this, I'm gonna use a social media platform that actually works. This is incredibly frustrating, and it also makes me think DTube adoption won't be great if other people have the same experience as myself. I have noticed Steemit has been being a little glitchy tody with my voting and comments so maybe it's Steemit to blame and not Dtube.
Moral of the story is I've tried to give DTube a shot but I don't think it's really worth my while so gonna keep posting on Youtube and embedding those videos here. It's going to be more lucrative for me money wise and less headaches as Youtube works everytime and DTube doesn't.
