Religion alone doesn't save us according to the bible. Salvation is a super gift from God which He gives to us based on how good our heart looks. Many people can practice religion outwardly while their hearts remain far from God. The Bible teaches that true salvation comes through repentance, faith, and a personal relationship with God through Christ.
Religion is still of help because it will make us to focus on God. Gathering with other believers, praying, studying Scripture, and living in obedience to God are important parts of the Christian life. True biblical faith is not just about rituals, but about a transformed life that reflects love, humility, and obedience to God.
The Bible also warns against empty religion that focuses only on appearance and human rules. Jesus often rebuked religious leaders who honored God with their lips while lacking genuine faith and compassion. Therefore, salvation is not based on religion alone, but on God’s grace received through faith, which then produces a life of sincere devotion and good works.
