Tsingtao Beer and Chinese Food in South-Africa:
Lately I have been feeling as if I have tested all the beers available in South Africa, that was until tonight. My wife and I decided to go and eat Chinese, in actual fact the restaurant we went to is not a Chinese restaurant, but an Asian restaurant with various Asian countries dishes on the menu!! Below is their beer menu, and that is where I spotted the Tsingtao Beer. The Tsingtao Brewery is China's second largest Brewery and was found in 1903!! This one I never had before, and this was the opportune time to test something new!!
The beer poured with a very light color and a decent white head!! Below is the can from the front.
The beer comes in a 330ml can and has an 4% alcohol content. Unfortunately I don't have the slightest idea what all the writing on the can says. The beer was however light and very drinkable, unfortunately in had a annoying and lingering bitter after taste.
The restaurant that we visited, was called Wok n Roll, which has a nice ring to it, below is the cover of the menu - I love the look!!
Each table was set with a few chopsticks and these were definitely not the throw away types, these were nice wooden ones!!
The ceiling had an industrial look to it, with the bare pipes and air-conditioning ducts in the open.
We started off with Chicken Sweet Corn Soup which came in these beautiful bowls!!
Below you can see the soup, this was delicious!!
Below is just another photo of the chopsticks on the table - note the nice wooden table!!
For my main meal I decided on Sweet and Sour Prawns with some fried egg noodles, this also tasted great!!
Just look at the juiciness of the food and the great colors!!
The decision to go and eat out was a spur of the moment decision, which turned out to be a great evening out with my wife. We don't normally eat out on a Tuesday evening, but this was an unexpected, but very nice evening.
I hope you liked the photos as much as I did taking them.
