If you have read a previous post in which I explained some terminology, you by now know what Steem and Steempower mean.

By writing this blog I will explain what you can do with these tokens.

Steem Power

Steem power is locked Steem on the Steemit platform which in 13 weeks, by means of a power down, can be converted back to Steem, this to ensure the value of Steemit.

Steem Power makes you more powerful on the platform.

In other words, when a large Steem Power shareholder considers certain content to be valuable, that will be more rewarding for the writer of the blog post than when someone with little Steem Power judges the same content in the same way.

Both STEEM and Steem Dollars (via Steem) can be converted to Steem Power at any time

Power Down Steem Power to Steem

Conversion to Steem Power happens gradually to prevent liquidity risks and to stimulate sustainable growth and use of Steemit.

Steem Power is converted to STEEM in 13 weeks.

In other words, Steem Power is the way to go!
