My entry for the #wednesdaywalk community, as hosted by .
My plan earlier today backfired. I was highly certain by boss was going to leave at noon, giving me a solid four hours of freedom to get four hours of work done without interuption. I was then going to head to a local nature refuge to check out the scenes and wildlife...alas, no luck. My boss has a knack for blowing up such plans. Yet, not all hope was lost...
So I headed up a trail known as Miller Bluff trail earlier this evening. I've been up here before last year, but this was the first time this year I made it to this trailhead. It's a steep one, but well worth the hike.
Most of the trail is covered by trees and mosquitoes...
Slowly but surly, the foilage begins to clear, and the views of the great Mississippi River Valley begin to appear in the distance.
In the distance are the nearby marshlands that I've shared adventures and photographs of before. Not today, however...today was all about taking in the West, enjoying a cool breeze, and watching the sun fall out of the sky.
Not a bad view at all for a Wednesday early evening hike!
I mean, the Driftless Area continues to make me feel like it's worth an evening outdoors on a random Wedneday night. I'm fortunate to have the time, ability and proximity to such sights for an evening walk.
Thanks for checking out my #wednesdaywalk! I hope everyone had a wonderful Wednesday as well...until next week.
