Before starting to work with Power Point 2007, you need to know some of the basic terminology used in it.
■ SLIDE:-
Slides are the individual pages of your persentation. Slides can be designed with different titles,graphics, text, and much more.
■ Persentation :-
All the slides, from start to finish , that you show to your auidence. Sometimes, persentaions are also called "slide shows". Presentations are saved in presentation files. The extension of a Power Point presentation is .pptx
■ STARTING POWER POINT ::-
To start Power Point 2007, click Start >All Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Power Point 2007. When you first open a presentation, you will be in Normal view and your screen will appear as follows :
The various parts of the above figure are discussed below:
● Microsoft Office Button contains sone commonly used commands.
● Title Bar contains the application name and the buttons to control the window.
● Quick Access Toolbar contains commonly used icons that give you quick access to Power Point 2007 features. The default icons are save, Undo and Redo . You may customize the Quick Access toolbar to include othe Power Point commands that you use most often.
● Current Slide is the slide that you are working upon for the presentation.
● Ribbon contains icons that provide access to various Power Point 2007 commands related to the active tab. Ribbons are divided into groups. Each group has a group name at the bottom of the rectangle.
● Slides/Outline Pane allows you toggle between text outline view of slide presentation and a thumbnail view.
● Status Bar display the slide number and the total number of slides in the presentation. Also display the theme used to create the presentation.
● Note Pane allows you to type notes for the active slide. Any type notes will appear when you print out Notes pages for your persentation.
● View Buttons click these buttons to easily switch between the three views - Normal, Slide Sorter and Slide Show.
