Oh hey, It's been a while everyone. I have been working alot lately and haven't had time to finish this one I called "Outer Rim Mechanic". It's done! The finished image just below followed by all the crops I showed along the way as I created this thing.
Oh yeah, this is my first post to !
The work in progress below...
Inspiration for the art comes from the Star Wars Galaxies Emulator, which I and alot of other old farts play.
It's my first time drawing the Lekku of a Twi'lek. I think I got them down ok. :-)
Any Star Wars nerds know what this thing is?
If you guessed X-34 Landspeeder on the last post, you were correct. You see that vehicle in
A New Hope.
Next is this crop from just a little while ago. Who knows what this? It will also be in this image.
In fact...
There are three of them in this art.
Like a sloppy puzzle...
the story of what's happening...
is starting to come together...
If you guessed Pit Droids on my last post, you were right. I am also adding pit droids to this art. You might remember seeing them in The Phantom Menace.
Ok, so I had other work to do today so I couldn't spend a lot of time on this.
What I did, was spend my time fleshing out some details.
So now I know what each of the characters are doing.
I am about as far as I can get with some basic lines. Not bad for free time work eh?
The next post from me will start on the color.
I took layers from some of my older art that had a barren desert type of background and dropped them into this and combined them to get a Tattooine-looking background. It still needs more work. Because well... 2 suns. Yeah.
I didn't get much done today on this, but I did do some changes to the background. In particular the addition of a second sun, but also the color of the sky.
Oh yeah, I also painted the Landspeeder with a primer coat!
Blue!
Oh look! Finally starting to get into some details!
Making all the Star Wars-y things!
I also got to start adding some individual personality to the droids today.
Added a holster and CDEF Blaster...
I'm trying some colors and textures to see what pops. This isn't my final choice yet.
Now a nearly full shot of the legs...
Finishing up!
And after all that, you get this!
Thanks for looking!
Follow me and of course I do appreciate the upvotes too!
