Hello .. !!
My dear Hive friends,
I am from Bangladesh. Today is Sunday , May 17/2026
Hi everyone, How are you? I hope everyone is well today I am talk about T20 cricket ipl,Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured a play-off ticket by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 23 runs in today's tense 61st match of IPL. They became the first team to secure their place in the last four of the 2026 IPL. On the other hand, Punjab's play-off dream is now on the brink of collapse after losing 6 consecutive matches. The afternoon match was a fight to ensure play-offs for RCB on one hand, and a fight to survive in the tournament for Punjab on the other. Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first after winning the toss. But the RCB batters' onslaught made that decision a nightmare for them.
Jitesh Sharma captained RCB today due to the injury of regular captain Rajat Patidar. Venkatesh Iyer excelled in the top order as soon as he got a chance.Virat Kohli shone as usual against Punjab. He played an eye-catching innings of 58 runs off 37 balls. With this innings, Virat achieved the unique feat of scoring more than 500 runs in a season for the 9th time in IPL history.
However, in this match, Venkatesh Iyer, who came down to the middle order, played the best innings of his RCB career. He played a tornado innings of 73 runs not out off just 40 balls to take the team to a mountain of 222 runs. Devdutt Padikkal (45 off 25 balls) and Tim David (28 off 12 balls) gave him very worthy company. However, Harpreet Brar took 2 wickets for 35 runs for Punjab.
Chasing a huge target of 223 runs, Punjab Kings suffered a major setback at the beginning. RCB's experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent Punjab's two openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh back to the dressing room in the power-play. Then Rasheek Salam took the wicket of captain Shreyas Iyer. Punjab were eliminated from the match after losing 3 wickets for just 19 runs. In the middle overs, Cooper Connolly (37) and Suryansh Shedge (35) tried to put up some resistance. However, Shashank Singh created the real storm. He played a devastating innings of 56 runs off just 27 balls, giving some hope to the Punjab fans. But in the death overs, Punjab's innings ended at 199 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs, in front of controlled bowling by Josh Hazlewood and Romario Shepherd. Anyway, I am ending my writing about this game here today, thank you all.
