"A fool sees not the same tree that a wise man sees." - William Blake
In honor of #treetuesday as it has been proclaimed to be by , I thought I would show you my interpretation of a tree I discovered the other day. This is a series of photos that I took / concocted but in the reverse order of their inception. Let's take a look, shall we?
This is a pattern I created from my photo of the base of this tree. There was so much going on in this one little section...knurls, color variations, thin layers of bark, etc. This design is in its purest form possible meaning I didn't edit the colors or do any tweaking in Photoshop. It's all tree! Look at that strong geometry that emerged, especially those two diamonds in the center. How fantastic is that?!
Here's another yummy variation. I am wondering which of the two you prefer? Feel free to leave me a comment below.
Here is photo that was the origin of my designs. I really love what I do! It's like discovering the essence that was lying just below the surface.
I showed you the bottom of the tree so I thought the top deserved equal time. It was actually the smoothness of the bark that first attracted me. It looks almost like skin. I have no idea what kind of tree this is so, if anyone does, I would love to know.
Winter and summer encapsulated in one shot.
If you have followed me for any length of time, you know that I create these patterns from many things, water, bicycles, mushrooms (click on the links below to see more). It is fascinating to me what I find now that I have learned to see beyond the obvious.
