I heard the other day from a new person I had just met: “There’s nothing wrong with a monopoly if you’re the one that owns the monopoly.”
There is of course some truth to that because after all, who wouldn’t want to just dominate in something? To be so good you’re the only one in that category. The fact is though - if one were to achieve a monopoly, it’s usually done in a less than scrupulous manner. Not always. Not sometimes. But also, not never. Is that a double negative? I don’t care - it sounds better.
