This is one of the most truthful questions that a person could ask themselves in a relationship, is this person what I need? I have also observed how people remain in a relationship due to fear or habit or even pressure without necessarily questioning God on whether this is the right person. And I believe that it is in silence that many hearts are broken.
The Bible confirms that God is not just accidental about companionship. Gen. 2:18, He said, *"It is not good that man should be alone, I will create a helper to him, who is meet to him. The word suitable matters. Not just anyone. Someone fitting. Someone purposed.
This implies that not all individuals who enter your life are God sent. There are those that come in due to our impatience, our loneliness, or our feelings. It is written in Proverbs 19:14, The wise wife is of the Lord. This makes us know that a right partner is not by pressure or in hurry the one that is given.
So how do you know? Your response begins with the relationship with God. When you are near God, then you start hearing. You come to a choice with your eyes only, you begin to judge with your soul. 1 Corinthians 2:14 is reminding us that we discern things which are spiritual, with the help of the spirit.
A partner ordained by God will not make you leave your faith, rather, they will make you even nearer to it. They will not cause constant confusion, but bring peace. In Col 3:15, it states that, the peace of God be reigned in your hearts. Peace is a sign. Confusion is a warning.
In my opinion, God makes a relationship solid when He is the base. Not that the two individuals are flawless, but that both individuals are subjected to an all-perfect God. It is the type of partnership to be awaited.
God bless his word
Amen
