Another crucial spiritual subject matter is whether God hears idol worshipers or not. In the Bible, it is explicitly permitted that God wants people to worship Him rather than use idols. Idolatry refers to the act of paying honor, praying to or worshiping images, statues, and everything that takes the place of the real God.
According to the bible, chapter of exodus verse 20 verse 4-5 states: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them. This order demonstrates that God does not subscribe to worship to idols.
The bible contains numerous texts that describe how idols do not hear or assist anybody. It reads in Psalms, they have mouths, but they speak not: eyes they have, but they see not: neither do they speak through their throat (Psalm 115:57).
These verses make us learn that idols are ineffective. Idols do not respond when people pray to them since it is just an object created by human hands.
Nevertheless, God is merciful as demonstrated by the Bible as well. God can listen to a person even though he or she had engaged in the idol worship before as long as the individual repents to Him.
In the book of the apostles, the apostle Paul clarified that God summons all to repent (Acts 17:2930). It implies that when an individual abandons idolatry and turns himself/herself to the true living God, God is ready to hear.
On my part, I think this depicts the extent of the love and patience of God. He does not tolerate the idol worship, however, He provides individuals with an opportunity to reform. I believe that what God is actually seeking is a genuine heart which worships him alone.
The book of Gospel of John also states that God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
To sum it up, the Bible tells that God does not hear the prayers made to other gods, since Gods are not fictitious. However, when the idol worshippers reform and submit to the real God, he is willing to listen to them. This will serve as a reminder to us that we must be sincere and faithful to God.
God bless his word
