Pre-marital sex is a subject that is not taken lightly and even a matter that people shun; nevertheless, it means a lot in our Christian livelihood. The Bible does not have any uncertainty concerning the plan of God with regard to marriage and purity.
Since creation, marriage was a venue of love, commitment, and intimacy created by God. Anything that is not a part of this plan is confusing and painful.
According to the Bible, marriage is honourable in everyone and whoremongers and adulterers will be punished by God through the bed which is undefiled (Hebrews 13:4).
This verse reveals that sexual intimacy is supposed to be pure in marriage. Two individuals who engage in sleeping before marriage are dishonoring the teaching of God although they may state that they love each other.
I am now able to realize that premarital sex does not help build love, but rather destroys trust and spiritual development. Most individuals believe that it is natural or innocuous but God does not adapt his word to the culture.
The bible also indicates, Flee fornication (1 Corinthians 6:18). God did not say that we ought to contrive it, and justify it away--He said that we ought to flee out of it.
The other reason why the practice is wrong is due to the fact that our bodies are property of God. Thou knoworest not that thy body is the temple of the Holy Ghost? (1 Corinthians 6: 19). By carelessly attending to our bodies, we forget of the worth that God has given us.
In my opinion, God wishes that we should respect ourselves and our future marriage.
Conclusively, before marriage, it is not the will of God to sleep together and it does not bring one true happiness. God has commandments which are not to punish us but to protect us.
My word is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path (Psalm 119:105). When we follow God with a heart of truth He provides us with peace, honor and future without regrets.
God bless his word
Amen
