Greetings!
One thing out of many that should be given priority in this life is our lives. Lives must be prioritised both by the individual and the public and this is because, once a life is lost, nothing can be used to replace it and before it's gone and gone forever, prevention should be taken seriously as it is better than cure.
Having said so much about life, health, and prevention, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt before me today which is all about, “In for the money.”
In our society of today, one thing has gained the priority of everyone and that is money. Money has taken the centre stage of every lives of the individual in the society and this cannot be blamed on anybody as it's understandable that without money, so many things would be left undone, but with money, I can say things would be get done and if there's anything that wouldn't be done, ten such things would be few.
Part of those things that shouldn't be left for money to decide is our lives and this is because, every other things can still exist even without proper attention, but as for life, if the needed attention is not given to life when it needed it most, then the life would lost and that would be the end of such a life.
Now, one thing that has been prevalent in our medical centres or hospitals in this part of the world is that no proper attention is being given to a life that's under threat of illnesses or accidents by the hospitals or the medical practitioners most especially when money is not being deposited or paid.
So many lives have been lost due to this system. Atimes, I see the our medical practitioners as people that are heartless as I used to be like, why would they prioritise money to human life, to me there's nothing to justify the system as we all know that it involves life and that any delay might spell doom and death for the life and one thing that we all know is that, once a life is lost, it can never be recovered.
Although, the fault should not be left alone to the medical practitioners but to all other stakeholders such as the patient who would not be willing to pay their medical or hospital bills once they get well or are out of the hospital. I think their attitudes were what triggered the system.
Also, the government is to be blamed as well as they ought to have insured everyone who are sons and daughters of the land, I think doing so would have abolished the system.
However, if nothing is done on the part of the government, I think a new system of having someone to stand in as surety should be embraced so as to go on with such operations or treatment needed by the patient to stay alive and live long. I'm very sure members of the family and the public would always be willing to save the life of one of them.
This is my entry to week 219, episode 02 of the weekly featured contest in the Hive Learners community.
