We have had to make countless adjustments since moving to France from Bali. Leaving clothes outside overnight is another I remembered this morning.
Esteban's trousers were frozen solid when I needed them moments ago and not much use to anyone.
Lesson learned.
This is what our main room looked like in Bali (for two years) so you can see why I might have become accustomed to leaving things out.
This is our current main room, in a small village of Les Pyrenees Orientales.
The distant mountains look beautiful with all this snow and despite these many adjustments I feel blessed to be living in this wonderful region again.
Soon it will be Spring and the white & pink of the endless fruit fields here will come alive again...
The most noticeable difference
Unexpectedly, the biggest difference between being here and in Bali is the sound of our environment. Especially at night. Here in the mountains of France there is no sound at all, except that of the wind. In Bali, the night was like an orchestra of insects & frogs, all of them screaming at the top of their tiny voices!
We were on the edge of a jungle and it was alive with sound... all the time.
