I stumbled upon a discussion today between Glenn Beck & Teeka Tirwari of Palm Beach Confidential in which it is demonstrated how prominent figures connected to Wall Street have been legally using FUD as a way to enter the market at a discount rate.
First published on YouTube in July by a user known as XRP (not associated with Ripple Labs) the show is 1h 17m long, entitled Glenn Beck Discusses The Great Bitcoin Cryptocurrency Conspiracy.

12th Sept '17 Jamie Dimon (JP Morgan) says "Bitcoin is a fraud" & BTC falls 24%
24th Jan '18 George Soros says "Bitcoin is a bubble" & BTC falls 44%
7th Feb '18 Goldman Sachs says "Most cryptocurrencies will crash to zero" & BTC falls 27%
He examines each of the above FUD events and shows how the people involved were ignoring their own advice.
Looking at the BTC chart the dates mentioned above do seem to fit.
Though one could potentially argue it was on its way down at this point no matter what people said.
Tiwari rightly points out that rather than listening to what people are saying, we should be focused on what they are doing.

Founded by Teeka Tiwari, Palm Beach Confidential (PBC) launched in 2016 as a subscription-based online publication as an advisory services about profitable investments.
It has limited membership with a subscription fee of $5,000 a year.
Looking at Tiwari's extensive CV we can be in no doubt he has had a fair bit of experience.
He has been a guest on FOX News, CNBC, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart & ABCβs Nightline, to name a few.
He seems like the real deal to me and everything he said rings true.
