Covid spoiled her first attempt, but...
She has a sportswoman inside - always enthusiastic to participate and be the winner. Before Covid came, she wanted to join skating class and learn that. And I happily encouraged that time and bought her skating shoes and other kits that time, from Decathlon. Unfortunately within a month things changed and those kits became token of remembrance over last two years. Now that we are back to normal, she wanted to join the skating class again. In our current schedule, it's a bit difficult (as we are very busy looking after my son, who is about to appear his 10th board in just 4 months) to take her for the training, but after some brain-storming, me and my wife have worked out a plan and it was a YES. She deserves her share of opportunity - even though, it might be a little extra work for us.
We planned to go to the training center in the afternoon (as that is when they train the students) and for that reason, went to Decathlon to get her some new kits and if possible ask them for an exchange of the old one (that we got two years back - it was almost brand new). I knew, it was not possible but then Sara never gives up. She cleaned it very nicely and wanted me to try to convince them. She will be behind you till her job is done - very deterministic. So I allowed her to take it and try it herself. And this time it was only me and Sara - usually the entire family go together always but then my wife and my son stayed at home for his studies - ya, that is how it's going to be for next 4 months.
While she tried to convince the sales person to exchange the old one I relaxed a bit - after some time she came back and said, You were right 😀, it was a waste of time. So we went to look for a new pair.
She tried out different shoes in different sizes and finalized this one along with other kits.
But then after calculating the price, she felt it was too much for me - Girls are like this probably ? Want to save her father's pocket ? She called her friend who has joined the skating class a week back and asked from where she got her kits. And after hearing from her, she told NO to these - she would get it from the coach at a cheaper price. The sales person knows me as we have gone frequently there, so he recommended to note down the sizes and order online, if its needed. This is the major difference between online vs offline - you can try the sizes. But once you know your size, it's easy to choose based on price / color etc.
She wanted a running shoes as well - she has cleared preliminary rounds at her school in not so good old shoes. So we picked one for her - here also she was looking for cheaper ones, but then I recommended to take the one that is more comfortable. The price of knee injury is much more.
And then she wanted couple of track pants for a Leadership camp in her school that is about to happen in couple of weeks. This is where she missed her mother - she assist in choosing what will go on her.
But then I was no less by any means - I have the best choice in the family - everyone knows. So we managed to grab couple of pants after trying out 8-9 different designs. Once we were done with her shopping, she wanted me to pick something - and she assisted to choose as well.
The best way to choose is to take a photo and see how it goes on you. But then most of the time, I am pretty decided before even trying. Picked these for me. And then could not resist looking at the football section.
My next to be shoes 😃
Coming back, saw a lot of new collections for the Winter, this gentleman was a bit disappointed to not find his size. As you have seen, I have got the jacket already from my office, so I was looking for something unique to buy and see what I found :
Pretty unique to protect the ear while riding the bike and feels so nice - my son wants to take it now :) The final snap in front of a tent house before coming back - nice one for camping.
In the afternoon we took her to the skating camp and did fill up the registration form and paid the fees taking the admission.
Interestingly the wife of the main coach is an old teacher of my son with whom I was very familiar. She is managing the admission, kit details and she gave us some discount and also kept the old shoes saying, she will try to trade in as it was pretty good. In the mean while, she will give some kit to Sara to continue her training. More to come on our brave lady's training.
