It was the first time I visited this town even though I had bad memories because a long time ago ,my defunct father was hospitalized there, in an oncology hospital. There are only few in whole Serbia, and since we were not living in capoital, they decided for him to go there. We were kids and my mum was with him, he spent there about two months after that he unfortunatelly died, very young, at the age of 46. So I didn't want to visit that place, because have very sad memories but the business trip lead me there, and I can say that the place is very beautiful, as I knew by experience of people who were visiting it. but I experienced it by myself, so recommendation for Kladovo.

Kladovo is one of those towns in Serbia where you feel like you’re on the sea because of the huge river, but you’re actually right on the border with Romania, where the Danube is perhaps its most powerful. This small town offers the perfect blend of history, nature, and that special peace that a big river brings. It really looks amazing.

We couldn't visit all beautiful places recommended by others but I will show photos we took on some places, as well will mention what is good to visit there. Here are some things you definitely shouldn’t miss in Kladovo and the surrounding area:
Fetislam Fortress
This medieval artillery fortress has recently been completely reconstructed and looks fantastic. It’s divided into the Small and Big Towns, and a walk along the ramparts offers incredible views of the Danube. It’s the perfect place for an afternoon stroll and a glimpse of Ottoman architecture.

Archaeological Museum of Đerdap
Although small, this museum is of immense importance. It houses artifacts that testify to the fact that this area was the cradle of civilization. You can see objects from prehistoric times, as well as important Roman excavations that tell the story of the conquering campaigns of Emperor Trajan.Trajan’s Bridge and Diana
Not far from the center are the remains of Trajan’s Bridge, once considered the largest bridge in the world. Although only the pillars are visible today, the very thought of what an architectural masterpiece it was almost 2,000 years ago leaves you breathless. Nearby is the Diana Fortress, one of the largest and best-preserved Roman castra on the Danube.4. Danube Cruise and the Small and Large Cauldrons
This is probably the most beautiful part of the trip. From Kladovo, you can take a boat ride through the Đerdap Gorge. There you will see:
Trajan's Table (Tabula Traiana): Visible only from the river.
Decebal's Head: A huge sculpture carved into the rock on the Romanian side.
Mrakonija Monastery: Located right on the water's edge.City Center and Beaches
My friends who were with me on the trip had told me that Kladovo has a beautifully landscaped quay and one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Serbia. During the summer, the atmosphere is truly summery – the cafes are full, they developed and devoted everything to tourism, so it is beautiful, people are swimming, and the sunsets over the Danube are unforgettable.
I am going to visit this place very soon with my family. We will try to stay at least 4 days in order to have time enough to visit all the places we need .
