I think it is pretty safe to assume that most people in this world would want to be wealthy. We all have this image in our heads where we are living a life where we don't have to worry about money at all and life is just peaceful.
We spend our whole lives running after that image, and there is nothing wrong with that per se. After all, money is indispensable considering how our very survival depends on it.
Most people tend to think though, that money is the only form of wealth that we should be chasing and sacrifice their other wealths in this pursuit. Yes, it is quite difficult to be in possession of all these other forms of wealth, all at the same time, but we owe it to ourselves to at least keep a balance.
In this post, I want to talk about the other forms of wealth and how important it is to concentrate on building them up as well.
A Lot More Than Money
So, the first form of wealth is of course money. It's the amount you hold in your account or as cash or even as investments. It is often said that money makes the world go round and it is quite obvious why we run after it so much.
The second form is Societal Wealth or in other words, your status in the society. Now, don't assume that you need power or money for this as most believe. You can be a contributing member of the society, helping people in various ways and be an influence and gain status that way too.
The third form is Physical Wealth and this includes your health, both mental and physical. Often times we sacrifice this wealth in order to accumulate the other forms of wealth but ultimately we don't get to enjoy what we accumulate because we don't have the physical wealth. Kind of ironic!
The fourth form is Time Wealth and this includes the free time you have that you use to do the things you love and with the people that you love. This is another form of wealth that people sacrifice the most in order to earn the other forms of wealth.
A truly wealthy person is someone who has a balance of all for of these. Having only money but not the time or health to enjoy it, renders it useless. The same goes for others as well. So, be mindful of accumulating the right kind and amount of wealth in your lives.
