So, it's been a week since the Conclave Arcana conflicts ended. For those who don't know, Conflicts is the new airdrop mechanic that was used in the game since the Rebellion set, and involves Staking cards and packs into Battle Wagons, in order to avoid cards and packs from being dumped in the market, while still getting the airdrop cards. For the Conclave Arcana Conflicts, there are 9 cards that will be airdropped to players, depending on the total entries they have, 3 of which are units, while the other 6 are archons with design inputs from the top 6 players who purchased the most packs during the presale period.
In this post, I will try to rank each of the Conclave Arcana Conflict Archons based on my personal experience encountering each Archon in the battle. I will not say that my opinion was Conclusive of the Archon's full capabilities, and my opinions of the Archons may even change in the future. After all, an Archon cannot win a battle on its own. It needs units that will synergize with it.
Ranking Conclave Arcana Conflict Archons
The way that I would rank the Archons will be from lowest to highest, and by lowest, what I mean is the Archon that I think is the least effective in Modern, particularly in high Diamond- low Champion League where I usually play, so there is a chance that the archons can be more effective in leagues where I do not participate.
No. 6: Loving The Moo
Loving the Moo was the very first Conclave Arcana Archon that was introduced in the set. Not A bad Archon with its Bloodline Dominion enables it to summon units that has the Elemental and Canisan Bloodline and giving them the Poison ability. And For its Tactics, it can give Blast, as well as Magic Reflect on up to 2 units. The reason I think that this archon becomes not very effective in battles is because there are now more cards with the Deflect ability that makes them immune from blast and reflected attacks. This includes 2 Conclave Arcana Archons, Hanv and Bella Ratajowlski, so as long as those two Are available for selection, Loving the Moo can't really show what it is capable of.
No. 5: Captain Frankie
Just Like Loving the Moo, I do not think that Captain Frankie is a bad Archon. It's Bloodline Dominion allows it to summon units with Rodentian and Tideborn Bloodline, regardless of their element and will give each of them the Inspire ability, so at most, there can be up to 6 units with inspire which is equivalent to +6 damage on all melee units and for its Tactics, it can give up to 2 units the Piercing and True Strike ability, so those two units will not miss their target and will also inflict any excess damage to armor directly to the target's health. The issue with the Archon is that its abilities was too melee focused so using range and magic units does not benefit it that much, and since this is a Life Archon, whenever it is available for use, so is the Rebellion Archon Eternal Tofu, which has the Thorns ability, so unless your melee units has Deflect, going directly against it will likely end in a loss.
No. 4: Brave The Bull
It was quite unexpected even for me, but I place Brave the Bull in the no.4 spot as even though it has been playable for more than a month, I can still count the number of times that I encounter it in one hand. This is even with Bloodline Dominion giving the Last Stand ability on all Djinn and Minotaur units that will increase all their stats by 1.5x if they were the lasts unit in your team and gives the Armored Strike and Execute ability on up to two units. In comparison to the previous two Archons, I think that it would fare much better in modern, but to my surprise, its been rarely used and for that, I can't really place this card any higher in the rankings.
No. 3: Elowen Sylphie
For the no. 3 Spot, I think that Elowen Sylphie deserves to have it. As an Archon, this gives both Avian and Mundane Beast units the Charge ability, which allows them to attack the front regardless of their position and for its Tactics ability, it gives the Trample and Resurgence ability on up to two units. Trample is fine, cause it could help those bloodline units that gets the Charge ability to further inflict more damage, but what you really needs to be weary of is the Resurgence ability that could resurrect a unit with full health, which I often see being used to Silverleaf Mage so that it could shower the opponent units with Poison through Poison Burst.
No. 2: Hanv
Among all the Conclave Arcana Conflict Archons, Hanv was the only Archon with Double Strike and Swiftness Tactics that could only be used on 1 unit, so I am kind of skeptical with how this Archon would fare in battles, but to my surprise, this Archon was one of the best in the set as well with how it synergizes well with other fire units, specially the recent Rewards and Escalation set. I often get matched with this Archon along with units that has the Ambush ability that gets doubled with Double Strike, so chances are that before round 1 ends, I already lose some of my units. Its Bloodline Dominion ability is also great with both Goblin and Undead units, getting the Deflect ability from it.
No. 1: Dragonlord Mancer
And for the no.1 spot, this goes to Dragonlord Mancer. It hasn't been that long since it became useable, so players may still be experimenting with this card, but still, I feel that soon, man would want to add this Archon in their deck. For one, Dragon Archon is quite flexible as you can choose one other element during battles, but aside from that, all Saurian and Bruteborn units will get the Scavenger ability, so their max health will increase for every unit that gets defeated. And for its Tactics, it can give up to two units the Bloodlust and Corrupted Healing ability and as we know, Corrupted Healing is the most powerful healing ability in the game so far that allows you to heal up to 70% of all your unit's health, so having not just one but two units with Corrupted Healing was unfair.
Another reason that resulted for this Archon to get the no.1 spot was the recent nerfing of the Eternal Rest ability.
Closing
An that was how I currently see all the Conclave Arcana Conflict Archons in terms of their effectiveness in battles. May change in the future with new cards and when Rebellion moves out of modern.
