The joy of any happy relationship is having an offspring. Unfortunately for teenage girls, the reverse is the case since they were not ready for the pregnancy. This could lead to psychological trauma and in some extreme case, lead to death.
For so many years, a lot of teenage unwanted pregnancy has caused a lot of public health challenges. At the same time, this teenage girls get pregnant for a whole lot of reasons.
Meanwhile, every average girl wants to graduate from college, secure a good job and get married. Unfortunately a lot of them destroy this ambitious dreams when they get pregnant unexpectedly and this turns there lives around negatively. Teens pregnancy has posed a significant threat to the society and has gone a long way in destroying so many lives of teenage girls. One of the major factor of this high rate of unwanted pregnancy is as a result of increase in poverty. There are also several reasons that lead to unwanted pregnancy, which includes rape, bad parenting, peer pressure and lack of sex education from parents etc. Also, on the part of the teenage girls themselves, many of them show loosed behavior and these lead them to bad set of friends or relationship.
On the issue of lack of sex education, It is the responsibility of all mothers to form a close bond with there daughters and educate them thoroughly on the dangers of having sex at a very tender age. Parents must always be at Alert about there children affairs, especially when it comes to sex education. The reason for this is because, sex education would never have any significant impact on the lives of the children, if there is no foundation of good communication between mother and daughter because that's the only way the child can open up.
During adolescent age, teenagers try as much as possible to fit in among social cycle of friends. Been with the wrong clique of friends who are inexperienced might be able to influence their decision to have sex without considering the after-math of the action they took. Sex among teenagers of this generation, look like a normal thing to them. They see sex as a way of appearing cool among there friends. It becomes devastating when they become pregnant as a result of unprotected sex.
A lot of parents, due to there busy schedule at work or private business find it difficult to provide the proper guidance and counseling to there daughter on sex matters. It's even worse, when the parents starts to form "holier than thou " attitude when sex topic is been brought up. The daughters will have no choice than to seek advice from there friends, if they should have sex or not. Wrong information from such friends might result to unwanted pregnancy leading to the girl been stigmatized among her friends, family and neighbors. Most girls as a result of the type of family they come from or out of shame resort to abortion of the unwanted pregnancy in a quack hospital or taking dangerous concoction which might destroy there womb or get them to killed, leaving there family in agony.....
