Peace be unto you all. You are once again welcomed to today's message titled: "Be Empowered With The Word On The Cross In Order To Be Saved."
Our Scripture Reading is taken from 1Corinthians 1:18. And says that:"For the word on the cross is foolish to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
Jesus and the cross should be our priority, even in drawing our scale of preference, should be counted first. The cross should be seen as something valuable and precious even more than gold, which when lost, it will be a disastrous in our lives.
As Christians, how do we cherish Jesus Christ and the cross in our lives? It is something that we need to revisit. In our daily lives, how do we remember Jesus Christ and the cross? If we were in the same shoes as Jesus took upon Himself to die for our sins, how would you have felt at that time?
This is something that has to reflect in our lives, not spending huge money on clothes, cars and building. They are vanity, and they will all pass away. They are lifeless, and therefore cannot save our lives.
Paul's letter to the Corinthians, makes known to us that; for those who are perishing see the word on the cross as something which is valueless. It is indeed true! The devil has veiled some of us, that we do not see anything imperative about the Jesus death. Some of us do not feel the pains and the anguished that Jesus Christ went through, hence, they do not attach any seriousness when it comes to the word of God.
But those who have really tested and believed in Jesus as though he did not sins, and as someone who was in the realm with God but did not value it and came to the earth to use his blood as sacrifices for our sins.
Beloved in Christ, how do you really accept the cross? Christians should therefore meditate the Jesus death always without season. Even this alone could change our bad ways to some extent.
The name "Christian" even explains it self as we being the followers of Christ. Therefore, it is our call duty and faith for we to believe that Christ died because of our sins without any argument or doubt.
The second aspect is the work attach to accepting that Jesus Christ died for us.
By accepting this principle, you then like what Jesus Christ likes, and loves what He loves. That is, abstaining from all spotted of sins and doing what is righteous.
This is where most of us take the cross to be "something foolish." Because of our personal gains and the excitement we consider the world to be. We sometimes choose the world at the expense of the cross which is our power and salvation.
Have we forgotten that Jesus Himself once said; if you want to follow me, then take up my cross? The taken of the cross is leaving all things which might be sweet and enjoyable on this world, but will not give you salvation.
But those who are able to endure through hardship searching for something really get them, no matter how difficult it is to break through
Taken the cross of Jesus, needs some life time sacrifices, as Jesus Christ also sacrifice his precious life for us. In life, you all bear with me that if you want to achieve something valuable, you must sacrifice for it.
