A big hello to the steemit community I've just joined steemit after a nudge from (who hasn't stopped talking about it here since he joined a few days ago.)
Now I'm not really the introduction type, In the right social group I will talk to anyone. I'm certainly not shy and I will happily talk your ear off about my job.
But since this is an introduction I had best make an effort.
So if you haven't guessed my name is Scarlet, married to the frantic coding, comic collecting, cosplaying, wannabe homesteading (or Stewart)
I'm a mother to two terrors angels children, I bullet journal, cannot function without coffee and can occasionally be found playing computer games (though at the moment my most played are pokemon go and candy crush.)
I also made 2017 my year to get fitter as well as toning classes I started running (seriously, running the thing I hated as a child it turns out I love now) and I completed my first organised run, which happened to be an amazingly fun, if a little messy, colour dash.
Why playing with fire is fun
So onto my job, I work as a self employed borosilicate flamework artist, which means I get to play with fire! Ok I control different levels of oxygen and propane through my torch (Nortel Midrange) to create a flame that will burn hot enough (over 820 Celsius) to soften the glass. Controlling the flame is important because different flames do different things, but lets leave all the technical talk for another time.
At the moment all you need to know is I use my pyromancy skills to create wondrous things from solid glass.
