Frustrations enter into our lives whether we are rich or poor, literate or illiterate, no matter who we are or where we are, where we live or where we school. We cannot escape frustration because it is human emotion. But we do not need to allow frustration to bind us or render our lives useless.
What is frustration? What does it mean?
Frustration is the act of bringing to nothing, making lifeless or worthless, to defect and to oppose. It means the act of keeping someone from accomplishing some purposes. It makes a person's effort and plan lifeless, confusing a person so that he or she cannot proceed any further.
One of the many aspects of growing up is the increasing ability to deal with frustration, to tolerate disappointments and to draw from negative experiences, some positive results. We have a choice to either frustrate frustration in our lives or allow it to control or dominate us.
Frustration is like a black window spider which seems determined to entrap its victim. Once trapped, the victim is rendered ineffective. Frustration forces us to consider a series of negative thoughts and actions. It's an attitude of worthlessness. If we do not subdue frustration attacks, we will not be able to control the feelings of depression, worry, anxiety and rejection, which come with it.
It is necessary to come to a positive realization that most frustrations are brought about by our own attitude. - Frances Carol
The realization that we cannot always have our way or change situations can also lead to frustration. We most times look beyond what we think we want, we battle with self-centeredness each day. We do not want to compare and compete with other people. We do not need to be jealous, everyone has got his own time and season. We must endeavour to focus more in our blessings or achievements instead of our desires. When desires turn to obsession, they turn us from God. These cause us to be focused on selfish things and thereby make us to be self-centered. We need to select the right prospective and follow through with it.
Frustration like a film casually strikes it victim quickly and often without warning.
Below are suggestions to help you avoid being frustrated:
HOW TO DEAL WITH FRUSTRATIONS:
- Do not allow people to know you are desperate for something. If they know, they would ensure you are deprived of such thing.
- Always endeavor to do things within your limits.
- Bear in mind, "what goes around comes around". Do unto others what you expect in return
- If you love something, set it free. If its yours, it will come back
- Always put God first in all you do and forever you will be glad you did.
- Be wise, know your limits and things you are good at. Do not take up a course because others are involved but be sure you are capable of scaling through.
