Today I would like to introduce you to a special whiskey from a Scottish island that is full of contrasts.
The island of Jura is located on the west coast of Scotland. On the island with only one street exists only one pub and one distillery. In fact of that there are more wild animals than humans. The island is defined by it's contrasts. A rough coast with sharp-edged rocks on one side and quiet sandy shores on the other side.

Heute möchte ich Euch einen speziellen Whisky von einer schottischen Insel voller Kontraste vorstellen.
Die Insel Jura liegt an der Westküste Schottlands. Auf der Insel mit nur einer Straße gibt es nur einen Pub und eine Brennerei. Daher gibt es dort auch mehr Wildtiere wie Menschen. Die Insel definiert sich durch Ihre Kontraste. Eine rauhe Küste mit scharfkantigen Felsen auf der einen Seite und ruhige sandige Küsten auf der anderen Seite.
George Orwell wrote his masterpiece "1984" on this island and named Jura as the most unattainable place on earth. Also Johnny Bruck, the illustrator of the title covers of the Perry Rhodan booklets, found his favorite whisky on this island.
George Orwell verfasste auf dieser Insel seinen Klassiker "1984" und bezeichnete Jura als den unerreichbarsten Ort der Erde. Auch Johnny Bruck, der Illustrator der Titelblätter der Perry Rhodan Hefte, fand hier seinen Lieblingswhisky.
As depicted on the bottle, you will notice the sweet flavor of honey with light peat smoke.
The taste is spicy with cinnamon, peat smoke, sea air and coffee.
The finish is pleasantly sweet with a spicy note.
Matured in bourbon barrels, contains caramel colouring
Wie auf der Flasche abgebildet findet man im Aroma süße Noten von Honig mit leichtem Torfrauch.
Der Geschmack ist würzig mit Zimt, Torfrauch, Meeresluft und Kaffee.
Der Abgang ist angenehm süß mit einer würzigen Note.

Unfortunately, I have not been to Jura yet, but the island is definitely on the list of my future travel destinations.
Leider war ich selbst noch nicht auf Jura, aber die Insel steht definitiv auf der Liste meiner zukünftigen Reiseziele.
