When I went to Santa Monica Pier last Friday morning, this was the only umbrella on the entire stretch of beach. So, of course, I knew I had to take a photo of it. The trickiest part was not getting too close that the couple enjoying their beach day would notice me and wonder why I'm creeping up and taking a photo!
