As I'm listening to the radio the other day they were broadcasting the traffic report and saying that to be on the look out for a mother bear and her cubs as they are slowing down traffic on one of the busier streets in Vancouver. I got me thinking. Since spring is right around the corner, animal encounters become more and more frequent in my part of the world.
I started reminiscing about the encounter I had with a mom and baby deer wondering through the neighbourhood and how people would start and stare or pull out their phones and snap an image or two. I of course took some shots and realized I was part of the masses as well.
I think when it comes dow to it is that we, as humans need to remember that we share this planet with other living creatures and they have just as much of a right to being here as we do. Caution must be taking when approaching any wild animal at any time and taking care not to disturb them is important. Be smart about your approach and take care.
Thanks for reading.
