Something unfunny.
Every time i go on the Internet, i find fear mongering "news". They paint a picture of the World that is dark and frightening. You all know what i mean. "Watch out!" They say. Even if there is nothing to fear. Some bloggers do the same thing. And they thrive on that fear.
They cry Wulf and tell a horror story about reality. They even invent new threats that would indeed be horrifying if they were real. There is a Word for this behavior. It's not a nice word or a big word. It is called Lying.
I have no idea what to do about it. Should i just close my eyes and watch some cat videos? Cats are cute and soft let's just look away and don't care about it. This is freedom of speech. But is it?
I am not talking about laws. There is a big difference between legal and right.
Is it just your opinion that there are horrifying dangers in the World. Dark conspiracies that threaten all of us. If these threats are not really there?
Does truth matter?
Can you find out what is True? I think yes.
Is it easy? F**k No!
Nothing that is important is ever easy. YOU have to check the sources. YOU have to find and fill the gaps in your knowledge.
YOU have to change your own Mind.
And YES this is hard. This is not Fun. You will get disappointed. And it will hurt. I myself had to let go of many ideas that filled my world with wonders. But living in a dream won't change the World.
Have a look out of the Window. The world is not burning. And if it is: Grab a bucket!
