Pumpkin Pearls Topping With Ice-cream
This Pumpkin Pearls Topping With Ice-cream dessert definitely tasted good whether is served warm or cold.
In a hot day at summer temperature like this, I would like to share this perfect dessert for you. I am not sure the origin of the pumpkin sago dessert, but it is a very popular dessert in malaysia. During hot weather, we are always crave for something cold and refreshing. Sago pearls doesn’t have much taste. The pumpkin is the key, the coconut cream makes the dessert more delicious and with the additional topping of Ice-cream really makes me drooling.
Ingredients
Pumpkin ∼ 700g
Sago ∼ 120g
Coconut cream powder ∼ 50g
Molasses sugar ∼ 3½ soup spoons
Vanila Ice-cream ∼ 2 scoops
Salt ∼ 1 teaspoon
Water ∼ 500g
Directions
Firstly, wash and cut the pumpkin into small cube. Then add in the salt and soak in a bowl of water for 10 minutes.
Take up the pumpkin and put into a stainless steel or ceramic plate.
Put the plate of pumpkin into a wok of pot and steam it under medium heat for 15-20 minutes, until the pumpkin is cooked and soften.
Take out ⅓ of the cooked pumpkin and put it into a bowl.
Press all the rest of the pumpkin by using spoon to become pumpkin mud.
Add the coconut cream powder, molasses sugar and 500g of water into a pot and boil it. Stir it while waiting for boiling. When the mixture is boiled, add in the pumpkin mud, mix well and turn off the heat.
Put the sago into a bowl, add in water to soak it for 15 minutes.
In another pot, boil triple water of sago under high heat. When the water boiled, add in the sago and cook it again under low heat. Until all the sago totally cooked, then take it out.
Soak the hot sago in the cold water or ice water for a while, then pour it to a strainer to drain the sago from excess water.
In a bowl, put in the pumpkin soup, pumpkin cube and sago. Then add in 2 scoops of vanila Ice-cream as topping. A bowl of yummy dessert is ready to serve.
You may mix all the rest of the pumpkin soup, pumpkin cube and sago together in a container and keep in the refrigerator to cold it for better taste.
