Mugwort Mountain: Weekly Update

So this week....

I'm sorry to let you down, I skipped a week!!! We've been so busy between packing and getting Mugwort Mountain ready. Between cleaning up the RV, kicking out the mice, and getting rid of junk form our winter rental (and the RV), I've had no time to make these updates for you and really not much time to write in general. Though I have made time to write in my journal almost every night because it helps me sleep so much better!

In the middle of all this, we decided to not use a bank for the house building process because there's already a closing date in view for the Brooklyn apartment. That means we can get this house cash and not put ourselves into debt! The point of making this homestead is to become self-reliant and debt as you should all know isn't always our best friend... It could be a tool but that's another story!

While the process of having a pre-fabricated home built on a property is completely crazy... it's an insane puzzle in which all the piece are time sensitive and must be placed in a specific order. I don't wish this on anyone else who lives in these ultra regulated states like New York!!!!
But we're doing it...

So, on top of this madness, we've decided to get ourselves a puppy too. Yeah we're a little nutty, but I hear that we work best under pressure.

Moral of the story, if you're gonna build yourself a house or have it built, there are a lot of factors to keep in mind and a lot of people to bring together (again this is for those places with forced regulations). It can be done of course, but your first time may be difficult than you envisioned! That also means everything take longer than expected.
