A brand new village is being constructed in British Columbia for senior citizens diagnosed with dementia Canadian residents are becoming more and more excited over the construction of a new village in British Columbia. Dozens of cottages will accommodate 72 dementia patients.
The objective behind this village is for patients to feel a sense of independence and giving them a sense of freedom and space, rather than "running into a locked door."
Studies illustrate the importance of people being connected to nature and the great outdoors.
The Netherlands is actually the inspiration, as it developed the very first dementia community equipped with stores, restaurants, and gardens.
It would be wonderful if the government will help pay for some of the costs related to this village.
