Walk by Piccadilly Circus
This is not talked enough. So I want to start by saying.
Piccadilly Circus is NOTHING like Times Square in New York.
So lower your expectations when visiting this place and don't wait to see anything like you see in Times Square.
I know people called it a miniature Times Square, but people should say a microscopical version and maybe that would be the most correct.
Don't get me wrong. This is still one of my favourite places to go for walks and it is one of my favourite parts of London.
But the first time I have visited 14 years ago when I came first on holidays, I was very disappointed, since I was expecting some more like I used to see in the movies where Times Square is featured.
Still a must visit. Specially since it is super central and just next to so many other amazing areas.
Typical Tourist Stop
Because this area and all the areas around are some of the most popular areas for tourists because of the amount of Landmarks in the area, expect this to be crowded and busy all day and all night long.
Being so close to Soho, China Town, Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, The West End and so many other places I could name but you better can see on the map above. This area is always busy.
Even at night, that wins a different life, because it is a very popular area to party at night with a lot of clubs and casinos.
Expect to see all different types of people here and everyone is on their own mission and looking for something different. Once again, because the offer of things to do in the area is so big, you get a vary group of people.
The "Times Square" Screens
One of the main attraction and reasons that people come to Piccadilly Circus is to see the (underwhelming, in my opinion) big screens.
You can still enjoy it and it is fun to look at.
If you want a photo that will be recognizable as being taken in London, for sure you need to get a photo with the screens behind you.
And I obviously, couldn't be sharing photos of this place with you without showing you the screens.
But again, they are very underwhelming.
Appreciate the Architecture
In general, all over London I would recommend you to just look around and appreciate the architecture.
But I want to call you the attention in here, because this is a very "rich" area of London that attract a lot of tourist as I said before, for those reasons the city and all the businesses make sure that all the buildings are looking pristine.
That's why everything around looks beautiful and you should stop a little, look around and just appreciate that beauty.
The decorations you see up in these photos are due to the King Charles III coronation. All year long they keep having new banners for many different events that go on in the city.
Quick side note.
These look really fun, but unless you want to be scammed, don't ever jump on these. They really overcharge people for the rides.
Specially if you are in the area at night and had a couple of drinks, run away from them. Because they will convince you to jump in and then in the end ask you for a WILD amount of money.
Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain
Could not end this tour without talking about the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain. It is not a working Fountain but it have a lot of history behind it.
This was erected to celebrate the fact that the Earl Shaftesbury have achieved in replacing child labour with school education.

Look Around
So if you are in London, even if you don't want or plan, you probably will be around. I would say, go for a quick walk in the area and appreciate it.
I know I have started with a very harsh comment about it but I still think it is worth the visit.
Here a couple of clips I have captured on the day I took this photos.
