Disclaimer: The above photo is not my actual PC, but I did use the same case in my build
Saving for that dream PC was hell but Crypto finally got me what I wanted
I find it kind of humorous what started me down the path to Crypto greatness and spawned an unrelenting passion to live fiat free. See my friends, before I became aware of the movement in Crypto to straighten out the Central banking systems, I started as a guy just trying to make ends meet and maybe save a little on the side to build a decent PC. Dreams do come true so let me tell you how I got to it before spilling my guts what I have under the hood of this beast of a machine.
First trading, then mining, then going to work
As a few know through new found friendships here at Steemit, I started my findings in Crypto last year due to being between jobs. I came across a google search for home based work about Bitcoin and the path to Crypto began for me. The article made me realize the Bitcoin I heard about back in 2013 was all grown up and moving towards helping a lot of financial security so began my push through the learning curves to find out how I could get inside and use this knowledge to my advantage.
Plainly speaking.....I was so naive
My first tactic was to take some saved earnings and strike it rich on the exchanges like so many believe is possible. Months later and a lot of change scraping the reality came to me that sure I can make a little profit but a day job seemed more profitable. In the end I learned a lot and you can never put a price on solid education when it comes to trading in crypto but it was clear to me the only guys making good where the ones holding high volume. Money begets making more money always, even in Crypto.
My second attempt at Crypto riches was to buy a bunch of miners. Sure I heard its an unprofitable game. When you add in electricity costs and at the stage I was in, second hand Ebay styled miners was all I could afford but you couldn't tell my stubborn side that this wouldn't do the trick. So I set the used miners up, let them run and a month later found out that mining alone is a very costly venture when your working with dated asics. Lets just say that electricity bill was heart breaking. Once again, money begets making more money.
At this stage I was all about giving up. Seems to me my luck in this space of people making life changing amounts of income was just out of reach for me. I couldn't place what I was doing wrong or if my luck was just that horrible. So I decided to really get involved with some communities, find out what coin out there made sense to me and try for a more long term solution.
Along the way, in that search I found out more about the roles that Crypto could play against the Central Banking systems. This area of financial anarchy ignited some passion in me. All my life I harborded a small hatred for how the government here in the USA dealt with the common man through its Federal Reserve show of authority. Then it became less about money and more about the movement. Maybe I was getting this Crypto thing all wrong, maybe I am here because this is the answer to my life long struggles of issues with that system.
Then came PIVX
Along the way I bumped heads with a few coins, not going to name names but seriously found a few corrupted systems of their own here in Crypto. Enough so that I started to lose some hope that the fight for financial freedoms against the system still existed in Crypto. Then came my finding of the crypto called PIVX and its amazing community of enthusiasts.
I happened in their slack at a very early stage after their first announcement of their rebranding to PIVX. They were called Darknet before my time but never seen much light of day till recently. Something infectious happened while i was learning about PIVX and a drive to work for them came over me. A few awesome souls that seen something in me got me into running their Facebook and marketing and then it hit me on why I was not getting ahead in Crypto. The message was strong and clear, my work ethic was more important and valuable vs my strive to earn money on happen chance luck like a lotto that seems to play heavy in the Crypto exchange markets. The only way I would make it is to work for it and so began a few months of serious effort on my part to help my friends at PIVX in any way possible.
Thanks to some friends, a lot of hard work, I finally made it
So long story short, I earned my keep while at PIVX. Rose up a little in the finances, not rich by any means but made enough to tackle some bills and finally get that PC build I started out on this journey to achieve. Biggest part of that gain was this, I plan to reside in Crypto and far from fiat so the PC ended up becoming another investment in my Crypto future. Now I can work more and get more done, plus my mining on it is a little more efficient lol
Moral of the story, remember one thing...nothing in life comes free. Some of us are lucky enough to come into the world with riches, some of us have to fight through the world to obtain it. No matter what side of the coin your on, working hard for it and being dedicated is the only way to get what you want in life, and to hold onto what matters in life always.
So here is my latest build (this is for my techno nerd friends)
The build is as follows and complete, working like a beast:
Corsair 740 Case
Asus Maximus iX Formula Motherboard
i7 7700K Unlocked Processor
Corsair Hydro 1115i Cooler
1000 Watt EVGA Gold PSU
Asus Strix GTX 1080 A-8G GPU
Got her at a crazy overclock of 5ghz for the processor and rolling out fine with low temps under specs. Gaming well, and helping me kick out these Steemit post while mining like a champ.
So work hard, play hard, enjoy life to the fullest. Don't get discouraged if things don't come to you fast, just be resilient and fight for another day to make your dreams and goals come true. And remember one thing, you can buy stuff with Crypto, don't let them fool you to believe its difficult, maybe not smooth sailing but I turned some of my PIVX into a $2600 PC build so anything is possible.
