”Textures is a very hard thing to judge as the concept of what makes a photo primarily about the texture is very subjective. I tried to judge based on photos where the primary subject was the texture itself and where the photograph made me want to become involved in a tactile manner with the subject. For Derek’s photo, I just wanted to be there with the sand dunes under my feet. For the texture of the sand in this photo to almost overpower the milky way part of the image was a feat in itself. Brilliantly done, as I am sure you all agree. Thanks to
