Or, as I wrote on one of the evil Big Tech social media platforms, I “kicked a poo down the kayak river.”
My wife, Stella T. Dog and I are staying in a cabin in what is referred to as the “driftless” region. That refers to an area unaffected by glaciers moving through the area thousands and thousands of years ago. Basically, there are still hills and whatnot here. It looks more like other parts of the planet than the rest of Wisconsin does

I’m glad we got to use them at least once! Due to a scheduling mixup, my wife and Stella got here Monday, but I didn’t get here till Tuesday. I brought the kayaks with my Jeep, and I had to put on the racks and holders and everything. As long as we used the kayaks, I was not concerned about that.

The river is pretty shallow at the moment, so we had to navigate carefully to avoid getting stuck. It failed a couple of times, but the current was strong enough to help push us along, so it wasn’t horrible.

We parked one car at the end and then drove to the beginning with the other car and the kayaks. It was nice to only have to go one way, which also happened to be downstream.
The weather was perfect. Not hot or cold. Around 60°F or 15°C. Would love to go again someday! Today is our last day up here before returning home to the sad, dirty city.
